## Overview

The Bachelor Degree in Hospitality Management is the College's principal three-year programme and the route most students take when they intend to build a full management career in hotels rather than enter a single department quickly.

The first year is deliberately broad. Students rotate through front office, food and beverage service, housekeeping and basic culinary operations, because a hotel manager who has never worked a service shift or turned a room manages badly. Alongside the operational work sits training in spoken communication, grooming and professional etiquette, which in hospitality are technical skills rather than soft ones.

The middle of the programme moves from doing the work to organising it — rostering, standards, cost and revenue awareness, guest recovery when something goes wrong, and how departments depend on one another during a busy period. Industry exposure is embedded rather than bolted on, so students spend structured time in real hospitality environments and return with something to say in an interview beyond a list of subjects.

By the final stage the emphasis is supervisory: leading a small team, handling escalations, and understanding how a property makes money. Students graduate having seen a hotel from the floor up, which is the difference between a candidate who needs training and one who needs orientation.

## Who it is for

Students leaving school who want the full management route rather than the fastest route to a job, and who are prepared to spend three years building depth across every hotel department before specialising.
